General Labourer – Container Unloading Key Responsibilities 1. Unloading Containers - Manually unload goods, products, and materials from shipping containers. - Sort and organize items for proper storage or transportation. - Ensure that all goods are handled with care to prevent damage. 2. Lifting and Carrying - Lift, carry, and move heavy boxes or items, often repeatedly during a shift. - Use dollies, hand trucks, or forklifts if available to transport goods safely. 3. Sorting and Stacking - Sort items according to type, size, or destination. - Stack goods on pallets or within storage areas following warehouse guidelines. - Maintain an organized workspace by ensuring that unloaded items are placed in designated locations. 4. Inspection of Goods - Check the condition of the goods during unloading for any visible damage or discrepancies. - Report damaged goods or missing items to supervisors.
