GoGet is looking for a DevOps engineer to monitor, optimize and build tools to manage overall system performance and delivery of code updates. The DevOps role plays an important part in our company’s performance, efficiency and stability. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring current systems, set up automated warnings and to notify relevant teams if issues are present or coming soon, and improve overall platform architecture for better performance while lowering costs . Scope of work:

• Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them

• Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration

• Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team

• Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently

• Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide

• Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives

• Perform root cause analysis for production errors

• Develop scripts to automate visualization

• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

• Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements

• Monitoring applications and software systems

• Implement a process to regularly load test the system for internal awareness of current limits for future optimizations

• Optimize current system infrastructure via better architecture and automated scaling to reduce costs in areas that is not needed

• Implement tools to better monitor and automatically warn the internal team of areas with performance issues and red flags for potential upcoming issues

• Understand system security and drive security measures to improve system security

• Reviewing product and technical documentation

• Provide objective feedback to software development teams

• Stay up-to-date with new tools and strategies

• Influence our technology platform for the better and have views on how it can help grow the community better

• Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies

• Contribute to fundraising activities required for GoGet.my 

• Performing other duties as assigned

Skills/Years of experience required:

• At least 1 year of experience in DevOps

• Experience in managing, deploying and monitoring web and mobile platform infrastructure for performance and issues

• Configured server images, optimized the task performance in correspondence with the engineers

• Experience working with Amazon Web Services, specifically having worked with most of these services: EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Lamda, DynamoDB, Amplify, Elastic Load Balancers, Auto Scaling Groups, S3, CloudWatch

• Experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
  

Location:

• Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Employment Type

• A 6-month full-time or part-time contract that can be extended to 12 months. There may be an opportunity for a full-time engagement after the contract period.

• We are MSC certified, although we are a predominantly Malaysian team, we can and have acquired work visas for foreigners.
