The Role

GoGet is looking for a passionate Application Support Engineer to join our Product Engineering team, in Malaysia first, and ASEAN long term. The central goals of the role are:


  1. Be a pioneer team member in building GoGet’s Technical Support team.

  2. Attend Level 2 ticket escalations and fix them - reducing the number of tickets being escalated as Level 3.

  3. Learn and grow from team members on maintainable and efficient codes.

  4. Code, test and document each deliverable according to the practice of GoGet’s Software Development framework.

  5. Build, support and maintain toolings for the Product Engineering team to be more efficient.


This role will entail supporting our Product Engineering team in reducing escalation of ticket & custodian of tools to make our team more efficient. You will work closely with the Product Engineering team members to achieve the above goals. The right candidate should be a techie at heart, willing to learn & open to feedback and have an unruly desire to innovate.

Let's break that down:

  1. Support, fix and maintain features that have been released for a great user experience.

    1. Attend and fix technical issues that have been assigned by the Business Support Team to us.

    2. Fixes can vary in tech stacks - React.js, Flutter and Ruby on Rails.

    3. Knows which issues need to be addressed first - collaborate with Support team & Engineering team(s) to understand and manage resolution of tickets on a quick workaround and technical fix.

    4. Find the best way to close the issue with the best technical fix that can be done.

    5. Ensure codes are tested and deliver the outcome with quality.

    6. Automate the tests whenever possible.

  2. Be the tooling experts for Product Engineering.

    1. Be the go-to person for tools that resides in Product Engineering.

    2. Maintain current tools and build a knowledge base for the usage to be shared with the other engineers.

    3. Build or innovate simple to complex tools, in ensuring the Product Engineering team is efficient.

Who will you work with?

We work as a team, and your role is to be a great team player with the Product Engineering team and any other teams that may be required.

Requirements

    Has 2 or more years of working experience.

    Strong understanding of OOP design patterns.

    Good knowledge in HTML, CSS, Javascript, MVC frameworks.

    Good knowledge in one or more of the following languages : React.js, Flutter and Ruby on Rails.

    Can be relied on to make the right decisions in the implementation.

    Able to reliably estimate the time needed for tasks.

    Able to develop test cases independently - BDD and TDD.

    Seek to learn new technologies that can be useful for the team and the product and keep him/herself up to date.

    Great communication skills with the ability to share knowledge with other developers.

    Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and Github.

    Experience with Agile development workflows is a plus.


Location

Our office is located at Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. However, being fully remote work is also an option, do talk to us about it if this is your preference.
